BCS = F$&#ing joke...

Well, the Sunday night I've been waiting forever for has finally come; the announcement of the BCS Bowl games. Boise State had a great, undefeated season and I thought, just maybe, they would get their second BCS appearance.

Guess what. Not going to happen. Want to know why? Because this ridiculous organization called the Bowl Championship Series decided that Virginia Tech and Cincinnati (who had a combined 6 loss total) were more deserving. They even took Ohio State who comes from a shitty conference and has 2 losses. I would love to see Ohio play Boise...

Boise wasn't the only team that got dicked over. Utah, who also went undefeated, got the low end of the BCS bowl games (at least they made it in). If the BCS followed their own arguments ("every game of the season counts"), it would be Boise vs Utah for the National Championship. Undefeated team vs undefeated team.

The BCS needs to go. There needs to be a playoff system, just like every other collegiate sport. We have March Madness, why not December Madness?

I'm glad the Pres-elect agrees with me.

Hasta readers.

The apples don't fall far from the trees...

Before I say anything, read this story:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27799810/

Ok, now that you've read that, this closed mindedness is absolutely inexcusable. And guess what, it's not the kids who are at fault here. Children will reflect what they are taught and what they are told (why do you think most religions, especially western ones, are taught beginning at such a young age? It's so it's all they know and don't question it*). These kids, being from a very conservative part of Idaho (I lived in Idaho, I know Idaho), simply reflected the ideals and attitudes of the adults around them. They didn't come up with their political affiliations by themselves. They aren't old enough to understand politics (hence why the voting age is 18).

People need to be aware of what they're "feeding" the minds of their children. Let them make their own decisions concerning what they want to believe or who they want to affiliate themselves with politically. Let them grow. I'm not saying don't be there to help them, but say "this is what I think" or "this is what I believe", not "this is how it is" and "this is what you must believe." Let them think for themselves.

Ciao readers.

*I'm not attacking religion here people, just stating my opinion. No need to get all defensive.

My Faith in America Restored (Partially)

Barack Obama became the president-elect yesterday and I could not be more pleased. After 8 years of the country getting flushed down the toilet, we are finally going to see change. My faith in America (for the most part) has been restored.

Now, there was something yesterday that quite frankly pissed me off. California's Proposition 8, which banned gay marriage, passed. Um.... first of all, last time I checked there was a separation off church and state. "Potecting the sanctity of marriage" is a religious quest people. Banning it is a state law. Hmmm.... see the problem here? To quote a dear friend of mine: "IF YOU ARE AGAINST GAY MARRIAGE, DON'T HAVE ONE!" If two people who happen to be the same sex, are in love and want to make that commitment to each other, they should be able to do so. People, it's none of your business and, honestly, how does it even affect you?

It's time to grow up you overly conservitive, religious, closed minded dicks. It's a new era. You may not realize it, but there are a lot of similarities between how you are treating the homosexual community and the segregation of race 50 years ago. Get off your religious pedestals. Get out of your ridiculously conservative boxes. All people are equal, whether they're gay, straight, rich, poor, black, white, male, female, religious, or atheist. Get over yourselves. Enough is enough.

But, at least the best man won the Presidential election.

I'm spoiled..

I love my job :)

This weekend I got to stay at the beautiful Zermatt Resort in Midway. We just recently signed them as a client, and I got the privilege to check it out.

They let me have a huge suite and enjoy their spa (the massage was AMAZING). If anybody is looking to get away for a weekend or something, this place is definitely a resort you should check out! I recommend it ;)

Till next time kids.

Explain something to me...

Ok, today's post isn't as light hearted as usual.

Someone help me to understand this.... My ex leaves me for an old friend of mine, they are a serious couple 2 weeks later, I've asked them to leave me alone and not to contact me, BUT SHE STILL DOES.

I'm going to lay this out: I'm not interested in your friendship. I don't want to hear from you. You cannot have "joint custody" with MY cat. LEAVE ME ALONE. PERIOD. I don't care what you think you need to text or call me about. Stop. Put on your big girl panties and grow up. I'm not going to tell you that all the shit you put me through so you could be "happy" was okay to do. YOU'VE BECOME A MAJOR IRRITATION. GO AWAY.

Side note, everyone watch the pres debate? It just confirmed for me the fact that Obama's the right choice and McCain is old and senile...

Until next time bored readers.

I'd hook up with her, but would never vote for her...

Ok, Sarah Palin is kind of hot... and that's about as far as my interest goes.

After watching the debate tonight, all I could think about is the fact I'm glad I'm a Obama/Biden supporter. The debate itself wasn't all that great, but you could clearly see who had done this before. Every time Palin spoke, she sounded like she was trying to sell the voters candy bars to raise money for the PTA, rather than debate for the Vice Presidency... I can only take so much of slang words like "ya", "gonna", "kinda", etc., before you've totally lost credibility with me. YOU ARE ON NATIONAL TELEVISION. SOUND PROFESSIONAL. Oh well, all that did was made Biden look better.

But, she is still kind of hot....

Go Big Blue!

God I love watching Boise State play football...

I'm sitting here watching Boise State destroy LA Tech. It's the first BSU game I've been able to watch here in Salt Lake, which kinda sucks because...well...... it's LA Tech. Woohoo..... No brainer on who wins this one...

Life has been pretty good lately. Work is going well. I got to mingle with all the ski resort big wigs and reporters last Friday at the Ski Utah media event at Snowbasin. The resort is beautiful.

I'm hoping to get away to Boise in a couple weekends. I'm at the point where, even though things are good, I need to get away for a little bit. I haven't been able to really relax since the bad breakup a month ago, so I'm going to try and make a point to go and see a bunch of old friends.

Well, that's about it for now. Go BOISE!!!!!!!!!

Hell yes

Hell of a day.

Went and had breakfast with a buddy of mine at Squaters in Park City before heading to work. We both graduated at the same time, with the same degree. He's a bad ass. 'Nough said.

Then tonight, was planning on going out with the same buddy, but totally forgot I had made prior plans. Felt like a jack ass. But he's a bad ass, so..... 'nough said. (Next week for sure man, next week)

Went with some old friends to dinner. If anyone hasn't been to the Bayou and likes beer.... GO! Tried the Rogue Chipotle beer. Excellent.

Then hit a bar, drank more, played some pool and headed home.

Night night bored readers.

Why o why?

K, here it is. My blog. You would think that I do ENOUGH writing and blogging being as I'm in PR, but, you know, non-work related writing could be fun...... right?

Just picked up the fourth season of Two and a Half Men. If for some reason you haven't seen this show, get on it. It's hilarious. Never been a huge Charlie Sheen fan, but this show works for him.

Side note, don't go see "Burn After Reading." Sucked. If you HAVE to go see it, wait until it's at least at the dollar movies, someone else is paying and you need to catch up on sleep. Shame on you Brad Pitt and George Clooney... You suck.
